Freedom might not means free to doing what you want..
There was once in a village which was protected by a fence surrounding it.
The villagers are very friendly, just like one big family. Their home doors would be open so that they could just come in and go.
But because of the fence, some of the villagers find it very troublesome.
Whenever they want to move out they have to walk out thru the main gate.
So they suggested to the chief village to take off the fence and the chief village took the fence away.
People from next village heard about this. One of the nights, some people from the next village sneak in and some of the things were stolen.

In the past, the villagers are free to do whatever they want with the fence protecting them. The fence is just like rules. When there are certain rules to surround us, it will protect us.
Rules might be troublesome and hard to follow at times but they still have their purpose.
